History: The Palazzo Ghisilardi Fava is a historical building in the heart of Bologna. It was trasformed into a hotel in 1911, and is today one of the most elegant in the city: the Grand Hotel Baglioni. The hotel is situated in a charming part of Bologna, the regional capital of Emilia, a stone's throw from the beautiful Piazza Maggiore and the two famous towers. It is itself part of the history of the city: it was built in the first half of the eighteenth century to house the Archiepiscopal Seminary, and incorporates pre- existent buildings.
The rooms of one of them, Palazzo Fava, are decorated with a series of frescoes painted by the Carracci brothers which are authentic gems of sixteenth century art.
