medioevale prospiciente la Piazza Santa Trinita è stata
realizzata una nuova struttura ricettiva; questa
residenza d'epoca è predisposta per un'accoglienza

Attraverso l'atrio del palazzo salendo con un ascensore
dedicato si raggiunge, all'ultimo piano, la reception posta
in una veranda che offre uno splendido colpo d'occhio su
tutto il centro storico di Firenze, da qui si può accedere
all'ampio terrazzo cinto dai merli guelfi della torre dove
si può godere un panorama mozzafiato a 360 gradi sulla
città.

La Storia: Questo
palazzo, costruito nella metà del 13° secolo, fu residenza
della famiglia Gianfigliazzi fino alla fine del '700, e fu
la sede del famoso Casino de' Nobili.
Negli anni personaggi ed artisti famosi furono ospiti nella
dimora di questa illustre famiglia, fra gli altri:
Alessandro Manzoni, Vittorio Alfieri ed il re Luigi
Buonaparte.
Dall'inizio del '900 fino alla fine della seconda Guerra
Mondiale gli aristocratici letterati inglesi, affascinati
da Firenze, elessero la pensione Piccioli di via
Tornabuoni, che aveva sede nei medesimi locali, come loro
residenza preferita.

In via dei Tornabuoni at the top floor of the medieval
tower overlooking Piazza Santa Trinita, a new accommodation
has been created; a period residence planned to
welcome a few choice guests in a sophisticated and private
atmosphere.
The entrance is through the ground floor hall of the
palace, a private elevator reaches the top floor where the
lobby is located in a veranda offering a magnificent bird's
eye view of the historic centre of Florence; from it there
is access to the spacious terrace surrounded by guelph
crenellated walls with a breathtaking 360° vista over the
city.
The Rooms: The twelve
rooms offer all modern conveniences and are decorated in a
simple, elegant style; there are extraordinary views of the
major city monuments.

History: This palace,
built in the middle of the 13th century was the residence
of the Gianfigliazzi family until the end of the 18th
century, and was the seat of the celebrated "Casino de'
Nobili" (club of the aristocracy).
Through the years a number of famous personages and artists
were guests in the dwelling palace of this illustrious
family, among others: Alessandro Manzoni,Vittorio Alfieri
and king Louis Buonaparte.
From the beginning of the 20th century to the end of World
War II English aristocrats and intellectuals, charmed by
Florence, chose the Pensione Piccioli in via Tornabuoni, in
this same building, as their favourite residence.
