Il Palazzo: Il palazzo che ospita l’albergo,seppure di edilizia minore, conserva il fascino dell’antica citta’ quando i membri della famiglia Barbaro, arrivati a Venezia da Roma nell’868, erano occupati in battaglie come Provveditori dell’Armata veneziana o in complicati rapporti diplomatici con i possedimenti della Serenissima repubblica. Attraversando la caratteristica corte con il pozzo, che porta il nome della famiglia, sarete assorbiti dall’intima ed insolita atmosfera di una Venezia lontana nel tempo.

Percorrendo il portico che conduce alla Porta d’acqua sul Rio di Ca’ Dolce sarete trasportati all’epoca in cui le gondole andavano e venivano dai palazzi, segrete custodi di intrighi amorosi e congiure.

L’attento restauro ha conservato gli originali elementi marmorei e le travature del 13° secolo, ancora in perfetto stato di conservazione, della reception aperta 24 ore, il lampadario e lo slpendido antico specchio testimoniano l’altissima abilità dei maestri vetrai di Murano.

Le Camere: Tanti piccoli particolari, i mobili in stile “fine de siècle”, le pregiate stoffe alle pareti, i lampadari di Murano ed i servizi che offrono le nostre camere, TV color satellitare, telefono con linea esterna diretta, cassetta di sicurezza, climatizzazione con controllo individuale, ne fanno tanti piccoli gioielli e sono dislocate sui quattro piani del palazzo raggiungibili con l’ascensore.
I bagni, di cui sono dotate tutte le camere, sono rivestiti con un delicato mosaico ed impreziositi da specchi e lampade in vetro di Murano, con vasca o box doccia ed asciugacapelli.

Soggiornare in una delle due Junior suites significa godere di ulteriore relax immergendosi nella vasca idromassaggio (Jacuzzi) o bearsi del raffinato ambiente con travi o stucchi sul soffitto e della indimenticabile vista da una delle finestre che danno sul tranquillo Rio di Ca’ Dolce dove si riflettono palazzi e semplici abitazioni di “veri veneziani”, in cui dolcemente scivolano le gondole dei turisti o transitano le barche da trasporto, un vero quadro di vita veneziana.


Ubicazione: L’albergo è situato in un tranquillo angolo formato dall’incontro del Rio di Ca’ Dolce con il Rio di S.Fosca, nel Sestiere di Cannaregio, quartiere a Nord-Ovest della città, tra i più popolosi e tipici di Venezia, nei pressi di Campo Santi Apostoli, vicino alla Ca’ d’Oro, uno tra i più bei palazzi sul Canal Grande, costruito tra il 1424 ed il 1440 su commissione del patrizio Marino Contarini per farne dono all’amata, deve il nome agli ornamenti d’oro che ne abbellivano la facciata in stile gotico fiorito. Il ponte di Rialto ed il colorato mercato,dove i veneziani acquistano frutta, verdura e lo squisito pesce dell’Adriatico, distano solo 5 minuti a piedi. Con una passeggiata di 10 minuti, attraverso tutta l’area dello shopping, si arriva alla Piazza S.Marco per ammirare tutti i suoi gioielli ed in 10 minuti sarete alle Fondamenta Nuove da dove partono le imbarcazioni per le isole di Murano, Burano e Torcello.

The Palace: The hotel building is an example of Venice’s minor architecture, but preserves the fascination of the ancient city. The Barbaro family came to Venice from Rome in 868, and members of the family fought in battle as Venetian army commanders or served as diplomats engaged in complicated relations with the Republic’s overseas possessions. As you come in by the distinctive courtyard with the well bearing the family name, you will be engulfed in the intimate and very particular atmosphere of a Venice of the past.

Walking under the archway leading to the water gate on the Rio di Ca' Dolce, you will be carried back to the age of gondolas moving to and from among the palaces, mysterious custodians of amorous intrigues and conspiracies.

The original 13th century beams and marble features in the space used as the reception hall have been preserved in perfect condition by careful restoration, and the chandelier and splendid antique mirror are specimens of the sublime skill of the master glaziers of Murano.

Rooms: A wealth of detail, fin de siècle period furniture, sumptuous tapestry, Murano chandeliers and facilities including satellite colour TV, telephone with direct outside line, wall safe and –independently-controlled air conditioning – and all served by lift – make the rooms on the four floors of the hotel little jewels.
All rooms have mosaic tiled bathrooms, embellished with Murano glass mirrors and lights and with bath or shower box and hair dryer.

Location: Our hotel is in a quiet corner where the Rio di Ca' Dolce and Rio di Santa Fosca canals meet, in the Cannaregio district in the north- west of the city. Cannaregio is one of the more populous and typical areas in Venice. We are near the Campo Santi Apostoli and the Ca' d’Oro, one of the most beautiful palaces on the Grand Canal, built between 1424 and 1440 by order of the patrician Marino Contarini as a gift for the woman he loved. Its name, Golden House, is due to the gold ornamentation on its Decorated Gothic façade. The Rialto Bridge and the colourful market where Venetians buy fruit, vegetables and exquisite Adriatic fish is only five minutes walk away. Ten minutes on foot through the main shopping streets takes you to St Mark’s Square to admire all its precious sights, or to the Fondamenta Nuove, departure point for water buses and ferries to the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello.
