Storia: L'hotel Torre Guelfa vi da il benvenuto nel Palazzo Acciaiuoli chiamato anche "Palazzo del Gran Siniscalco".

Il fondatore, Niccolò Acciaiuoli è stato Primo Ministro del regno di Napoli. L'edificio, costruito in pietra ha l'aspetto di una fortezza austera che pare simile a quella del Bargello.

Alla destra dell'entrata si trova la famosa torre del XIII secolo eretta nel 1280 dalla famiglia dei Buondelmonte, precedenti proprietati del sito.

Nel XIV secolo la torre diviene parte del Palazzo degli Acciaiuoli ed è sopravvissuta a vari conflitti a partire dall'epoca medioevale fino a quelli della seconda guerra mondiale, divenendo una delle ultime e più alte torri del centro storico ancora intatte.

Dalla terrazza i nostri ospiti possono ammirare la superba vista della città e godere magnifici tramonti sorseggiando un drink in una suggestiva atmosfera medievale.

History: Hotel Torre Guelfa welcomes you to Palazzo Acciaiuoli, also called "Palazzo del Gran Siniscalco" because the founder Niccolò Acciaiuoli was Prime Minister of King of Naples.

The building, constructed out of rustic hewn stone, has a severe fortress-like apperance.

To the right of the entrance is the famous 13th century tower, erected in 1280 by the Buondelmonte family, former owners of the site.

In the 14th century, the tower became part of the Acciaiuoli palace and has survived many conflicts from medieval time to after the second World War, making it one of the last and highest historical towers still standing.

From its terraces our guests can admire a superb view of the town and enjoy dreaming sunsets while having a drink in a medieval atmosphere.
