Splendida dimora cinquecentesca, situata nel cuore della
città.
Le sale del ristorante dai soffitti a cassettoni con fregi
in oro zecchino, porte laccate autentiche 500, camini dai
colonnati antichi, affreschi di splendidi colori opere
della scuola ferrarese, offrono un'atmosfera
particolarmente raffinata unitamente al piacere di gustare
un invito gastronomico alla corte degli Estensi.
Il nome si deve alla dolce e splendida figura storica di
Isabella d'Este, dama gentile, appassionata di simposi e
banchetti, alla quale si deve il primo bellissimo servizio
da tavola in ceramica graffita, commissionato nel 1490 a
Nicola d'Urbino.
Ovunque troverete un'atmosfera di raffinata
tranquillità.

Background:
Duchessa Isabella is a beautiful sixteenth-century building
in the heartb of Ferrara.
The restaurant rooms, with their gilded coffered ceilings,
real sixteenth-century lacquered doors, ancient pillared
fireplaces and the bright colours of the frescos of the
school of Ferrara, offers a refined atmosphere which
enhances the pleasure of tasting delicious food at the
Court of Este.
The hotel was named after Isabella of Este, a historical
sweet, gentle noblewoman who was fond of symposia and
banquets.
She commissioned the first beautiful graffito ceramic set
from Nicola D'Urbino in 1490.
Every corner of the hotel offers a refined, quiet
atmosphere.
The building is protected by the Italian Ministry for
Cultural Heritage.
