Dalla Doganaccia (laghetto San Giovanni Gualberto) è possibile prendere un'altra funivia che conduce questa volta alla Croce Arcana (1700 mt slm), da cui, percorrendo una passeggiata sul crinale appenninico che divide la Toscana dall'Emilia, si giunge al Lago Scaffaiolo (1700 mt slm).
