La storia: La Villa eretta alla fine del '700, fu abitata dal Barone Herman De Schubart, ministro del Re danese, che scelse la villa come propria residenza e la chiamò "La Vedetta" per l'incantevole panorama che si può ammirare dalla grande terrazza.
Insieme all'Hotel Villa La Vedetta altre ville ornano il declivio della Collina di Montenero e ne contemplano lo spettacolo mozzafiato, lo stesso che incantò Byron e Shelley che vi trascorsero alcuni anni della loro vita. La villa elegantemente restaurata, con le sue 31 camere, si affaccia sul mare della Costa degli Etruschi e si inserisce perfettamente nell'atmosfera tranquilla e raffinata della Regione Toscana.

Ubicazione: Vicino al porto di Livorno e all'aeroporto di Pisa, l'Hotel è meta ideale dell'uomo d'affari, ma anche del turista desideroso di conoscere al meglio le bellezze artistiche che le principali città della Regione offorno comportando spostamenti di massimo un'ora d'auto.

Il Parco delle Colline livornesi che accoglie l'albergo scivola a sud di Livorno tra boschi di erica, alaterno fiori di cisti, lecci, sugheri, pini marittimi e aleppa. Se vi piace viaggiare senza fretta, in punta di piedi, guardandovi intorno per arricchirvi dei silenzi, degli aromi e delle emozioni che solo la natura sa dare, sarete i benvenuti. A cavallo, a piedi o in bicipotrete scoprire questa terra ed i suoi sapori. Le Camere: Il cliente avrà a disposizione camere tutte dotate di aria condizionata, bagno, TV satellitare, frigo bar, telefono, predisposizione modem-fax. Le 31 camere dell'Hotel sono tutte dotate di bagno, telefono, frigobar, TV color, asciugacapelli e aria condizionata. Le raffinate tappezzerie delle camere che variano dal giallo al rosso e al blu fanno da cornice ai loroi ampi spazi che per la maggior parte godono di una splendida vista mare. Le pareti, essendo una villa del '700, sono molto spesse, respingono il caldo e mantengono il fresco consentendo agli ospiti di godere di un clima sempre fresco e confortevole. Le camere al secondo piano sono molto caratteristiche avendo mantenuto il soffitto a vista con mattoncini e travi di legno originali. Da qui la vista mare è davvero unica e corre dal golfo di Livorno alle Alpi Apuane, dalla città di Pisa alle Isole Gorgona, Corsica e Capraia fino al golfo di Viareggio.

Meeting: L'Hotel offre una sala congressi climatizzata di 400 mq. ad illuminazione naturale, dotata di moderne attrezzature che accoglie fino a 120 posti seduti.

LA VEDETTA HOTEL

History: All people from Leghorn know that on the late XVIII century and at the beginning of XIX century, Montenero was holiday destination for writers, poets, sculptors and lovers of nature. We would like to mention: Smollet, Foscolo, Byron, Shelley, Lamartine, Longfellow and the famous Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen who spent many months in the Shubart's Villa, today Hotel La Vedetta. The Villa, built at the beginning of XVIII century, was Baron Hermann De Shubart's residence, Minister of the Danish King, who loved lodging young artists from his country who stopped in Montenero on their way to Rome. Thorvaldsen talked about this place as a source of healing that gave him back joy for his work. At the end of XIX century the Villa was presented to the Sisters of Calasanzio who used it for charity services. Today the Hotel completely restored respecting the original Tuscan style, still conserves the spirit of welcome handed down by its history, becoming perfectly part of one of the most suggestive landscape of the Etruscan coast.

Rooms: In each room of the Hotel our clients can enjoy individually controlling air conditioning, private bathroom with shower and suspending sanitary fixtures in beautiful white porcelain, TV colour, minibar, direct dial telephone, hairdryer, modem and fax facilities. The refined tapestry of the rooms varies from yellow to red and blue colours. All rooms are very spacious and comfortable. On the first and second floors, rooms are so spacious that they can even be used as a three bed or four bedroom. Four rooms at this floor offer a marvellous sea view. On the second floor the rooms are very characteristic, because they have the typical Tuscan terracotta and wooden beam ceilings. From here one can really enjoy a unique view over the whole Gulf of Leghorn until the Apuan Alps, from Pisa to the Gorgona, Corsica and Capraia islands up to the Gulf of Viareggio. Because of the thickness of the 18th century walls, all rooms are quite fresh, even when it is hot outside.

Meeting: From the 400 sqm congress hall with space for 120 people, with natural lighting, equipped with the most modern technical equipment, one can directly go outside of the terrace and have a fresh break, enjoying a drink with a sea breeze and an enchanting view.

From the terrace of 370 sqm, one can relax under the warm sun or read a good book under the fresh and shady trees in the park. From everywhere one can admire during the day the cobalt blue sea, in the evening the spectacular sunset and furthermore the town of Livorno.
For artists, writers and poets, it is possible to open the access to the small tower "La Vedetta" (that means look-out tower) for the beautiful landscape one can admire from its terrace, which dominates the villa. There they will find the ideal place of silence and beauty, necessary to find the right inspiration to work.
