Ubicazione: L’ Hotel si trova all’interno della Fortezza Orsini di Sorano che è una delle più significative e imponenti testimonianze dell’architettura militare del Medioevo, fatta erigere dagli Aldobrandeschi nel secolo XII, e che si trova al centro di una grande area etrusca di rilevante importanza archeologica e storica.

Alla fortezza si arriva per mezzo di una ripida stradina medievale che, in particolar modo alla sera, trasforma il rombo dell’ auto nello scalpitare dei cavalli dei feudatari pronti alla battaglia.

All’Hotel si accede dalla piazzetta interna racchiusa dalle possenti mura nel punto più alto della fortezza.

L'Hotel: All’ingresso un piccolo salotto annuncia le camere, tutte sui tetti di Sorano, uno dei gioielli etruschi costruiti nel tufo dell’Alta Maremma, e su un paesaggio ancora incontaminato.

Tutti i servizi più moderni sono disponibili in un ambiente elegante dove si respira un’aria antica con i soffitti a travi a vista e letti e arredi del XIX secolo mentre l’arte moderna è protagonista nella sala da pranzo.

Colazioni: E come negli accampamenti medievali, sotto un tendone a strisce gialle, vengono preparate le prime colazioni.

Location: The hotel is situated within the Orsini Fortress of Sorano, which is one of the most impressive examples of Medieval military architecture erected by the Aldobrandeschi family in the 12th century. It lies at the centre of the Etruscan heartland, an area of enormous archaeological and historical importance.

The Fortress is approached by a steep medieval lane, and in a strange way, as night falls, the rumbling of cars transforms into the pounding hooves of horses carrying feudal lords to battle.

The Hotel entrance faces onto the internal courtyard, confined by mighty walls at the highest point of the fortress.

The Hotel: On entering the Hotel, a small hallway leads onto the rooms, all overlooking the roof tops of Sorano - an Etruscan jewel built in the tufa rock of Inland Maremma - and the beautiful landscape below.

All modern services are available in an elegant setting with ancient beamed ceilings and 19th century furnishings where antiquity fills the air, whilst contemporary art decorates the dining room.

Breakfasts: Just like a medieval encampment, breakfasts are prepared beneath a yellow striped canopy.
