Location: Located on the Gran Canal in the very heart of Venice, 5 minutes from Rialto bridge and at 15 from San Marco Square, the Hotel offers its guests the opportunity to be surrounded by the magical atmosphere of thousand years old city which has remained unchanged over the centuries.


It was the residence of some of the most important Venetian families; now one of the most important hotels of Santa Croce and Rialto districts.


A building of the XIV century. Residence of some of the most important Venetian families, the Grimani, the Corner, the Bragadin, now “Ca’ Favretto” “Ca” is the abbreviation of the word “casa” which means house in Italian. In Venice all the most important buildings are called by the family name.

The name of Ca’ Favretto was given to the building at the end of the XIX century after Giacomo Favretto, a long-term resident lived and worked in it. Giacomo Favretto (1849 – 1887) was one of the most representative venetian modern artist.

Some of his paintings are exhibited at the modern art museum of Venice “Ca’ Pesaro”, and many other thought Europe. To commemorate the work of the artist, the City of Venice placed a plaque in the front of the palace in 1901. until 1959, when it became a pensione, the place remained a residence for Venetian families.
In 1981 the building was completely restored in accordance with and under the control of the fine arts departments and municipality of Venice.
