HOTEL QUARTARA

Un piccolo hotel nella piu'piccola Isola delle Eolie, Panarea.


Ubicazione: Nonostante sia ubicato a poche centinaia di metri dal porto, è sufficientemente lontano dalle occasioni mondane che offre l'isola, da assicurarvi la massima tranquillità del vostro soggiorno.

Arredato con mobili artigianali in teak e realizzato utilizzando quanto di meglio offre il mercato artigianale siciliano come i pavimenti in pietra lavica realizzati a Caltagirone o le mattonelle decorate a mano di S.Stefano di Camastra.

Storia: L'hotel nasce dalla ristrutturazione di una struttura extralberghiera esistente da quasi 40 anni. In queste foto, inizi anni '60, l'inaugurazione di quello che ai tempi era l'alimentari più "grande" dell'isola. Qualche anno dopo diventò anche affittacamere e successivamente bar, pasticceria e ristorante.

L'albergo è situato a Piano Quartara, un pianoro al di sopra del porto dove sono state trovate tracce di un piccolo insediamento (forse una o poche capanne) della fase finale dell'età eneolitica (ultimi secoli del IV-III millennio a.C.). Da esso prende il nome la facies culturale di questo periodo nelle Eolie detta "Cultura di Piano Quartara".


Le Camere: L'hotel dispone di 13 camere, 4 delle quali con vista mare e terrazzo, arredate con mobili artigianali in teak, ad ognuna delle quali si è cercato di dare un'impronta diversa: coloniale, minimalista, cinese ecc.

QUARTARA HOTEL

A small hotel on the smallest Island of Eolian Archipelago, Panarea.


Location: Despite its location, just a few hundred meters from the harbor, it is far enough from the worldly occasions offered by this island, to assure the greatest peaceful stay.

Furnished in teak wood and decorated with the best items of the Sicilian handicraft, such as lavic stone floors of Caltagirone or hand decorated tiles of S. Stefano di Camastra.

History: The building hasn’t always been a hotel. Indeed, as you can see in these pictures, beginning of the 60s, it used to be the "greatest" grocery on the island in those times. A few years later, it also started to rent rooms and became bar, pastry shop and restaurant.

The hotel is located in Piano Quartara, a tableland above the harbor where traces of a small settlement (maybe one or a few huts) of the final stage of the Eneolithic period (last centuries of the IV-III millennium B.C.) were found. The Eolian cultural facies of this period was named after it: "Culture of Piano Quartara".


Rooms: There are 13 rooms, 4 of which overlook the sea and have a balcony.
