La villa fortificata che ha vissuto per sei secoli sotto
l'unico stemma dei Serristori, dalla fine del Medio Evo
fino all'unità d'Italia, ha riacquistato oggi nuova vita
perpetuando nel culto dell'arte e della bellezza la sua
storia.
Camere:
La Villa Casagrande, apprezzata residenza di Re, Papi e
Regine, nel suo immenso patrimonio artistico, accoglie oggi
un confortevole albergo con 60 camere recentemente
restaurate e fornite dei più moderni confort, senza che il
loro fascino trecentesco sia stato in alcun modo
sminuito.
Appartamenti: Chi volesse
rivivere l'emozione ed i sapori di una terra fiera ed
antica potrà anche scegliere fra gli appartamenti
incastonati nelle vecchie mura castellane. Le finestre che
danno sul giardino all'italiana fanno sognare una perduta
villa agreste e le notti con i trovatori che cantano sotto
i trinati balconi.
I 10 appartamenti che si trovano nella villa possono essere
di due tipi:

La
Piscina: Anche la piscina, nel rispetto del
sapore antico della Villa é stata ricavata in una antica
struttura sotto le mura castellane.
Negli stessi locali si può godere anche di una moderna
sauna e della palestra.
(La piscina è aperta dal 1 Maggio al 15 Ottobre)
La
Cucina: L'antica cucina, dove la contessa era
solita dilettarsi, è il luogo dove gli ospiti della Casa si
incontrano al risveglio, davanti ad una buona tazza di
caffè.
Il
Ristorante: Il Ristorante, nell'antica sala
d'armi d'inverno e nel chiostro durante i mesi più caldi,
offre una cucina ricercata e tipicamente toscana nonchè
ottimi vini Chianti di produzione della fattoria.
Meeting: Nei saloni della Villa
si organizzano meeting, riunioni di lavoro, sfilate,
concorsi.
La
Fattoria: Parte dell'edificio Villa Casagrande è
adibito a locali fattoria. In esso erano la tinaia, la
cantina, i magazzini della fattoria della Casagrande. In
alcuni locali contigui era stata impiantata una filanda; ed
in altri, l'anno 1730, era stata aperta una fabbrica di
vetri.
Ancora oggi nel rispetto dell'antica tradizione vengono
prodotti vino ed olio di qualità.

The Villa which belonged to the Serristori family for six
centuries, from the end of the Middle Ages to the
Unification of Italy, has today found a new burst of life
because of the interest in its history and beautiful works
of art.
Rooms:
Villa Casagrande, formerly a residence of artistic heritage
frequented by kings, queens and popes, has been recently
restored and is now a luxurious hotel. The sixty bedrooms
have been furnished with modern comforts, taking care not
to spoil the charm of this C12th building.
The
Apartments: If you want to experience the
sensation of staying in the ancient grounds you can also
choose one of the ten apartments found within the old
castle walls.
Looking out of the windows over the old Italian style
garden it is easy to dream about the old Villa and the
musicians who used to sing under the balconies in the
evenings.

The Swimming pool
: An ancient building found within the castle
walls has been converted and is now home to the swimming
pool, the modern sauna and the gym.
(Swimming pool is open from May, 1st till October, 15th)
Ancient
Kitchen: The ancient kitchen, where the Countess
used to spend her days, is where the guests of the hotel
meet to have their breakfast and to enjoy a nice cup of
coffee.
The
Restaurant: The restaurant, situated in the old
weaponry room in the winter and in the shade of the
courtyard in the warm summer months, has a well-researched
typical Tuscan menu, to be complemented by one of the
excellent Chianti wines produced by the farm.
Meeting: In the large rooms of
the Villa it is possible to hold meetings, gatherings,
shows and conferences.
The
Farm: Some of the outbuildings of the Villa have
been converted into a farm. These housed the stores, the
cellar and the wine vats of the original Villa. Some of the
adjoining buildings used to house a spinning mill and a
glass factory, which was opened in 1730.
Following the traditional methods, our own wine and olive
oil continue to be produced today.
