imponente e misteriosa, la Villa si staglia proprio davanti
a voi.
Il giallo, uno dei colori predominanti di Pitiana, si
ritrova anche nella campagna circostante caratterizzata dai
fiori di Camomilla Romana, Achillea e Dente di Leone, che
insieme ai profumi sono corona alle altre piante spesso
utilizzate per arricchire le pietanze gustate durante il
soggiorno.
Ed ecco la sera il giallo della luce diffusa dagli antichi
lampadari dorati ed amplificata dai festoni di cristallo,
nei saloni d'ingresso e da pranzo.La bellezza ed il fascino

Convegni: Per quanto riguarda il turismo
congressuale organizzato, Villa Pitiana offre, oltre a
strutture congressuali e a sale per meeting e convegni,
proposte interessanti nella ricerca della soddisfazione di
ogni singola esigenza.
La costruzione, che si fonda su un monastero del 1000
ampliato in villa nel 1700 a situato a 430 mt. sul livello
del mare, è immersa nel verde delle colline del levante
fiorentino a soli 25 minuti dal centro di Firenze.
La serenità del luogo, sicuramente ispirata dalla radice
monastica, è ancora oggi gelosamente custodita. Negli
intervalli del lavoro attraversare gli antichi corridoi del
monastero, le sale della villa, vivendo dall'interno una
realtà particolare, o visitare il nostro giardino botanico
con pochi equivalenti in Europa, non risolverà i problemi
che lascerete in sala ma forse vi aiuterà a trovare
l'intuizione risolutiva e sicuramente una vera rilassante
pausa.
Corsi di
Cucina: I nostri corsi di cucina durano da una a
cinque mezze giornate e sono riservati ai clienti
dell'albergo e delle case coloniche. Si svolgono in una
cucina medievale dell'antico monastero di Villa Pitiana.
Ogni giorno i nostri ospiti (in gruppi di massimo 12
persone) imparano a cucinare un piatto tipico della cucina
toscana.
L'intero corso comprende la preparazione
di un antipasto e due piatti principali. Dopo la scuola, i
partecipanti sono invitati a partecipare alla degustazione
del cibo preparato e dei vini.
I nostri cuochi
parlano inglese e, durante il corso, danno anche
informazioni sulla storia e la tradizione della cucina
toscana, l'olio e il vino.
Al termine del corso i
nostri ospiti riceveranno le ricette e un ricordo del loro
soggiorno nella campagna toscana.

Villa:
have just left the main road to S. Ellero and the sensation
of drawing close to my journey's end overcomes the mounting
tiredness.
I look around me, trying to remember the images that
induced me to choose Pitiana for my holiday in Tuscany.
When I pass the last houses at Donnini, I see it, and there
is no further need to remember: I know that the yellow
villa in front of me is Pitiana. I wrote yellow
automatically, because this colour, in all its shades, has
pursued me at every turn.
The countryside around the villa is dotted with yellow too,
the colours of the Roman camomile, yarrow and dandelion
flowers: their colours and scents crown the other plants
enriching the dishes I tasted during my stay.
In fact it is this dominant taste which brings to mind the
flavour of the oil produced by the farm, present in the
food and on the table.
In this oil you can almost see the sun, with its enchanting
changes of colour at sunset.
The colour yellow stays with me in the evening too, in the
light diffused by the old golden lamps and amplified by the
festoons of crystal in the hall and dining room.
Pitiana's beauty and charm open a door to the past: as I
pass from room to room I imagine monks meditating or
architects directing the builders in their villas
restoration work; even the computer does not grate with the
historical atmosphere - on the contrary, the succession of
objects seems to have its own logic.
While it is true to say that we are constantly looking to
the future and searching for something new, we should also
turn back and look through the memories of time to
rediscover old emotions and put on, with nostalgia, at
least for a little while, the old clothes of the past.
That is what I found in Pitiana.

Conventions: Villa Pitiana is
opening its doors to Meetings and Congresses. Until now we
took care of meetings on behalf of our Clients only.
The satisfaction of them, convinced us to face this new
challenge, which will find us perhaps with less experience
than others, but with the awareness to offer an extra-
ordinary place. A wonderful team will be at your disposal,
willing to make you love Pitiana.
The building is based in a monastery of 1000 enlarged into
a villa in 1800.
It is located at 400 mt. on sea level, surrounded by the
hills of "Eastern florentine" Chianti, 25 km. far from the
centre of Florence.
The Serenity of this place, surely inspired by the monks
tradition, has been carefully preserved through the years.
Cooking courses
: Our cooking courses are carried out from one
to five half days and are reserved to the guests of our
hotel and our country houses. Their setting is a unique
place: the medieval kitchen of the ancient monastery of
Villa Pitiana. Each day our guests (in group of max 12
persons) lern how to prepare a single recipe of the tuscan
cooking.
The whole course offers the composition
proceeding of a hors-d'oeuvres and two main dishes.
After the preparation the participants are invited to a
food and wine tasting. Our cooks speak English and provide
information about the history and the tradition of the
Tuscan food, the olive oil and the wine.
A visit to
a n ancient winery is part of our programme.
At the
end of the lessons our guests are given all recipes and a
keepsake of their stay in the Florentine
countryside.
