Ubicazione: In contrada Castiglione-Margitello, sul versante Nord di una collina dei Monti Iblei a 510 metri s.l.m., sorge Il Balcone di Sicilia, antica masseria iblea dei primi ‘900. La masseria costruita con la caratteristica “pietra viva” del luogo, è stata recentemente ristrutturata ed è immersa nella campagna ragusana tra numerosi alberi di carrubo, mandorlo, ulivo e fichidindia, che hanno ispirato i versi del più noto Gesualdo Bufalino.


Panorama: Il casale gode di uno straordinario panorama che domina, da una parte, su tutta la Sicilia centro-orientale dai Monti Iblei ai Monti Erei alla Piana di Gela, al vulcano dell’Etna fino ad intravedere a cielo terso Piano Battaglia (Pa) e, dall’altra, sul bellissimo “Mare Nostrum”, crocevia delle più antiche civiltà marinare (Kamarina).


Chi Siamo: Una giovane coppia di sposi Salvatore e Anna e i suoi tre bambini, amanti della natura e dei prodotti tipici cui è fortemente vocata la zona.
Con un carattere semplice e cordiale, che contraddistingue i siciliani, godrete di un accoglienza familiare.


Camere: Il Balcone di Sicilia dispone di camere doppie e singole con ingresso privato. Le abitazioni, recentemente ristrutturate, conservano il fascino della antica casina ragusana. Le camere con le pareti in pietra viva e particolarmente fresche d’estate sono arredate con mobili in legno in stile rustico di fattura artigianale del luogo, e godono di tutti i servizi (Bagno in camera, Tv e climatizzatore). Inoltre a disposizione degli ospiti un locale adibito a cucina rustica con forno e credenza siciliana con ingresso indipendente.

Location: In the zone of Castiglione-Margitello, on the North side of a hill of the Monti Iblei at 510 meters s.l.m., you can find The Sicilian Balcony, an ancient iblean farm house dated at the beginning of '900. The mansion is built with the "live stone" caracteristic of the place, has been recently renewed and is in the middle of the ragusan country among carrubbo, almond, olive and fichi d'india trees that inspired the verses of the more famous Gesualdo Bufalino.


Landscape: The mansion enjoys a wonderful panorama which includes, by one side, the whole central-eastern Sicily from the Monti Iblei to the Monti Erei till the Piana di Gela, to the Etna volcano until you can barely see, with clear sky, Piano Battaglia (Pa); on the other side the panorama includes the beatiful "Mare Nostrum" (The Mediterrean Sea), melting pot of the most ancient sea civilizations (Kamarina).


About us: A young married couple, Salvatore and Anna, and their 3 children, loving of nature and of typical products.


Rooms: The Sicilian Balcony has single and double rooms with private entrance. The structure, which has been recently renewed, has still the charm of the ancient ragusan small house. The rooms, with stone walls and particularly cool in the summer, are furnished with local artisanal wooden furniture in rural style and have private bathrooms, TV and air condition. Available to all guest there's also a rustic kitchen with oven and sicilian cupboard with independent entrance.
