Ubicazione: Il Castello di Pavone, facilmente raggiungibile e visibile dall’autostrada e dal casello di Ivrea dal quale dista circa 500 metri, è uno dei monumenti più belli del patrimonio artistico italiano.

La Storia: Le immagini fotografiche non gli rendono giustizia tanto alla vista è bello, fiabesco e scenografico. L’emozione offerta al visitatore è grande, suggestivo più di quanto si possa immaginare, ogni sua parte è poesia. Le sue mura possenti e fiabesche, sono state erette dal IX al XIV secolo, la chiesetta romanica all’interno del parco medioevale è stata edificata nel 850 circa ed accoglie ancora oggi in due tombe romane del IV e V secolo a.C. i due capostipiti. All’ interno delle mura del castello affascina il cortile interno lastricato in pietra montana ed ingentilito dal pozzo dei misteri e dalla suggestiva architettura che lo contorna. Costruito come fortezza a protezione delle vie che arrivavano dal nord-ovest, si protegge con una formidabile doppia cinta muraria davvero imponente che lo ha reso nei secoli imprendibile. Si erge maestoso sulla sommità della collina del paese di Pavone, dominandolo superbamente sia per la notevole scenografica dimensione, sia per il profondo fascino che esercita su chi lo osserva.
E’ stato proprietà e dominio di molte importanti casate quali Re Arduino, i Vescovi di Ivrea, gli Ottone, i Savoia ed ha una storia fortunata, alla fine del 1800 il Castello è stato sapientemente restaurato dal famoso Alfredo D’Andrade e dal 1992 la famiglia Giodice si è invece incaricata dell’attuale ristrutturazione che lo riportato agli antichi splendori.

Location: The 'Castello di Pavone' is 500 mts. far from the Ivrea exit on the motorway and easily reachable and visible from there.

History: It is considered as one of the most beautiful monuments of the artistic heritage of our Country. The photographic images cannot portray its natural beauty and its fairy-tale and spectacular effects. This marvellous castle offers a great emotion to its visitors with its fascinating and poetical aspect. Its strong and fabulous exterior walls have been built between the IX and the XIV century; in the inner courtyard stands a beautiful Romanesque little Church, built in the 850 ,with its two Roman tombs which dates back to the 4th and 5th century b.C., built for the two ancestors.
The castle boasts a suggestive interior courtyard paved with carved stones and a beautiful mistery well. The suggestive architecture which surrounds the courtyard is fascinating. It has been built as a fortress to protect the ways from the north-west side; it is surrounded by exceptional and majestic double boundary walls that protected the castle during the centuries. It majestically overlooks the little village called Pavone, dominating it with its spectacular dimensions and fascinating those people which can observe it.
This castle was owned and ruled by different important families, such as the houses of King Arduino, of the Bishop of Ivrea, Ottone , Savoia and its history is famous to be a lucky one. At the end of 1800 the castle has been skilfully restored by the famous Alfredo D’Andrade. In 1992 the works of restoration continued, thanks to the Giodice family, and the castle regained its antique magnificence.
